'Patience is a waiting game!'

Ahhh, Mr Kingfisher, waiting patiently to catch his dinner, his focus solely on the glittering water that flows under his perch.

I cannot tell you what a massive labour of love this was.. he nearly ended up in the scrap heap I can tell you but now I'm glad he didn't! This was a new way of working for me using my lovely vintage Bernina to do the stitching for me.

A painted piece of cotton provided the background where loads of scrap fabrics were first pinned and then sewn together. Paint was also used to provide more depth of colour in places and I decided to leave some of the machine threads to dangle to add a feathery feel.

As like all my listings, this is an original piece of artwork and will not be repeated, although the subject matter may be... or not!

This piece will come mounted on a canvas so its ready to hang on your wall, or prop on a shelf.
