Red Fox

For ‘Red Fox’ I used watercolours and collage for the first time.

Small scraps of fabric were collaged and hand stitched together to create the initial image of the fox. Then more hand sewing was added to suggest the finer details, the direction of his fur and to bring him to life!

The backing fabric is a vintage handkerchief, charmingly showing signs of wear! It was boil washed before I used it, I can assure you!! I extended the original leaf pattern and flower, with more flowers and stems, unpicked from a French piece of needlepoint.

He comes mounted on cartridge paper ready to be framed.

This, like all my products listed, is an original piece of artwork, never to be replicated, although the subject matter may be revisited.
